Although HKUST scores well across all the different aspects of its MBA program there is an overwhelming trend towards alumni pursuing a career in the finance and banking sector, in fact over 50% of alumni end up in this sector three years after graduation. One downside of this reliance on the finance and banking sector for employment following graduation seems to be that HKUST’s percentage of alumni employed at 3 months has dropped from 90% in 2010 to a rather ugly 69% in 2011. This is undoubtedly attributed to the global economic downturn and it’s impact on the finance and banking sector.
