More Indian MBA graduates are returning home to utilise their entrepreneurial skills in a rapidly expanding economy
India has long been a source of talent for the top global business schools, with Indian students keen to learn a global brand of business leadership and explore the exciting career opportunities offered by developed economies. However, this is changing as India’s economy itself becomes a more attractive environment in which this new breed of highly skilled Indian entrepreneurs can flourish.
Global business schools give these students not only the solid grounding in business theory, but also practical experience and a fantastic networking platform with opportunities to nurture new ventures and even access funding.
According to the Economic Times Harvard, Stanford and Wharton have all seen a rise in the number of Indian students returning home to start businesses in India, particularly in the online space where India will become a massive player over the next 5 years. India is already the third largest internet using nation and growing fast! Couple this with a massive population of 1.2 billion and India will undoubtedly overtake US to become the second largest internet using country in the world and second only to China.
Online entrepreneurs in India have already had some success with sites such as InfoEdge, Flipkart and Makemytrip, however, we expect more innovation to come and soon!
